Ancient zebra migration rediscovered in Botswana
The forces of nature remain astonishing. Ancient wildlife paths from Chobe to the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Bostwana were blocked by cattle fences and a massive zebra migration was lost. As one of the fences recently dropped, the animals found their way back along these routes, even though none of them could have walked these paths in their lives before. Researchers think that these important migratory routes are somehow genetically encoded and are working to discover the mechanism behind it. At least one thing is certain: the sight of it is just beautiful.
