Pack Safari is the proud winner of the Responsible Tourism Awards 2019!

The awards were handed out at this year’s Tourism Expo, by Minister of Environment and Tourism, Pohamba Shifeta.

The condition for being nominated was a successful assessment by EcoAwards, the sustainable tourism certification program of Namibia. The program is based on international standards for sustainability, but adapted to the Namibian context. Here we received the highest achievable score of 5 EcoAwards flowers, meaning Pack Safari is doing extremely well in being a sustainable tour operator.

Themes we were assessed on included:

Waste- and water management
Social and cultural development projects
Conservation efforts
Working with eco-friendly accommodations
Supporting local suppliers
Creating equal opportunities

Our newly launched Tour Guide Academy, whereby we train Namibians from a variety of backgrounds to become a German-speaking guide, definitely distinguished Pack Safari from the other nominees.

Sustainability is at the core of our business and we look forward to continue our efforts to support our environment and people.
